ramblings of a teenage boy

Last day of January and 9 more months to O levels. Visited my grand-aunt in the afternoon. She gave us red packets and also made 3 Popiahs to eat. It was delicious as she sells Popiah for a living. No thanks to Eugene, Moses, Nicholas and co. for creating trouble for me - phone number incident. Seriously, please grow up and don't do all those child's play again. From 8 onwards, played Mahjong with my parents and sis. Won again and named myself Mahjong Boy, then everyone laughed. Watching Arsenal vs West Ham first half. Arsenal will subsitute Van Persie and score in the second half. He is one of my favourites as well as Santa Cruz, Nasri, Vidic and Clinchy. Thierry Henry is becoming a shadow and Van Persie is taking charge at Arsenal. Hopefully, one day I will play like one of my favourite players. Any one will do.

Lessons were of average today, neither too boring nor interesting. I played Blackjack and won alot at first and treated some of my classmates recess. Probably, greed is my downfall. I took up Eugene's challenge and i lost the profits to him. Majority of my classmates had to sit for the A-Maths base test retest because they had failed, even Eugene who needed just 1/2 mark to pass. But not for me, i got 13/20 for mine.. Shervin was highest with 16. Qin Xian, Dai Wei and Raymond got 2 which was ridiculous. After that, wanted to go for NCC but CSM Master Sgt Wilfred said those not with No.4 uniform can go home. Eugene and I helped out awhile before going to lunch with JD, Moses, Chimp and Preston at SingPost. From the time of going to our destination from our school, Moses won few hundred dollars from Eugene but later it was reduced to just $20.
Word of advice from me: Gambling sucks. Even so, during a gamble, you must stay calm to win. Once you show any signs of anxiety, you will start to lose. Believe it or not~



Ytd went to my grandparents' house for a grand CNY celebration. It was filled with excitement from the start to end. The adults played Mahjong while we played Blackjack and Dota, plus watch tv together. My grandmother's curry was simply heavenly but can't say the same about the beehoon. At night, we were all worn out and we watched the square-boxed television. 40-Year-Old-Virgin was simply hilarious as it shows the boyish side of the man until he loses his virginity and knows how it's done.
Today, visited more of my relatives and I played Mahjong. Maybe it's beginner's luck that i won $49 because i was not a pro. My mum helped me to ask for donations from everyone for my school Catholic Fund because i was busy and forgotten all about it. Thanks mum!
This year Lunar New Year was better than the previous years but it will not stop just that. Hopefully, i can experience as well as treasure the wonderful CNY days ahead.


At my grandparents house now, using my laptop. Just cope some class photos from Jia Ding. The photos were late because Mr Tan was slow in sending him. All the photos just show the liveliness of our class and also our teachers who are always young at heart.

Could not go EHub with Moses,JD and all because was spring cleaning the house today. Needed to clean our room together with my bro but i did most of the work. Around evening, bathed and changed before heading to my grandparents' house to have reunion dinner. Gathered with my cousins and ate a sumptuous steamboat. We played few games of Carom together. After which, had shark's fin cooked by my grandpa and Lao Yu Sheng together. I had a little drink of beer and my mum told me that my cheeks were slightly red. Can hardly wait till tomorrow when i can meet my relatives and receive as many red packets as possible..! Sleeping as late as i can but it's definitely after midnight, so that my parents will have a longer and better life.

Today's the eve-eve of Chinese New Year. This morning, I woke up early and had tuition at Kovan. Mr Ong gave out Ang Baos (with money up to $10) for every correct answer given. We were doing Probability. Then, ate my lunch and slept from 2plus to 8. I don't know why i was so tired that i even missed church service at 5. When i awakened, i quickly watched 'The Chronicles of Riddick'. Vin Diesel acted as Riddick, who is the last of a warrior-race called the Furyans. He fell in love with Kyra and attempted to save her from the dark forces. Due to the power of love, he managed to destroy the dark lord and become the king. However, he could not save Kyra but she said her last: I was always with you. How romantic.



Today was super funny. Had PE lesson and Moses, Eugene, Matthew and I took the shortcut by the short SPCA route. We camped at the bus stop for awhile before making our way to the finishing line. Qin Xian was first.. Moses was second and I was third, then Eugene and Matthew along with rest of our classmates. Did my AMaths base test and quite confident to pass it. Then had fun with 4G peeps. To 4G friends: You guys were great, but we were slightly better lol (:

After my history and ss extra lessons, i played soccer with some friends..Moses, Qin Xian, Jia Ding and the noobest Nicholas. On the bus home, there was a mother with her autistic son. Her son was weird and kept on standing at the spot beside the stairs. The mother shouted at her son to sit down many times but the son refused. Just one stop before they alighted, the son begged his mother: I want go downstairs.
The mother said next stop and he made some grunts. I sort of pity the mother and son. God have mercy on them and bless them.

Morning, had Chinese lesson and the lesson was boring as usual. Halfway through the lesson, the Li teacher knocked on the table to quieten down the class. I helped him by doing the same thing and then he asked me why i knocked. I replied i was keeping the class quiet. He keep repeating (in Chinese): There are still students talking there.
I got fed up, just turned and told the class to keep quiet. Then they laughed. The class was peaceful after that, so he told me to return to my seat. Had lessons and then another boring assembly. After assembly, the head-of-Chinese told all Sec 4 HCL who scored B3 and abv to see her. When we all were there, she crapped alot saying actually only those who distinction can continue HCL and there were a huge number of students who got B3. She told them they will be given a chance but it's nt advisable. I'm not included because i got B4.
We returned to our class and did our new year decoration. It was not perfect but near perfection. One word Beautiful. Had a short Chem lesson with Mdm Limand volunteered to help her carry the books. Preston helped too. Then she gave us her Clorets sweet and her last chocalate. Then i asked her what's her religion.
She said same as mine, in which i replied: Huh. Sure anot.. I'm Christian.
She said: Ya same la.
I said: How can you tell?
She just smiled.

Today, had both Maths tuition at Mavis tutorial centre. Jaston and Ben Aw were super funny throughout the lesson, esp Jaston who guai lan Mr Ong, saying his drawing is sibei lame. It's quite true because he drew something on the board for us to guess and then those who got it get to answer the maths question to earn themselves some money. One time, he drew a human with a circle on his body and a swimming pool. Nobody could guess so he gave some clue and someone shouted," Liverpool!" Then, we all started saying not funny. Mr Ong said: I never said it was funny. For the rest of the drawings, they all kept saying lame.
Finished all my sch work, and have time to use the comp awhile. Heard on the 987fm something interesting: Dont give up on love because love is all around. Wont be blogging regularly now as i am going to concentrate on my studies and cca.

Woke up at 10, washed myself up and had breakfast bought by my grandmother. Played one game of Dota, then my bro went out with his friends. Justin called at 4 and asked if we were going church. I told him my bro's not at home and I'm not going. But will be going for church service tmr morning.
Still have lots of maths homework to do given by Mr Tan..with maths, ss and history tests coming up. In charged of CNY deco along with Eugene and Chimp. This is our final year in Maris stella and our class is going to get 1st for being the most innovative class. Three cheers for 4K!

Got alot of things to say today.. In the morning, I dont know what went wrong with me. I forgot to bring my Chem notes and i began to do some lame things, disrupting the Mdm Lim's lesson. Then, she gave us worksheet on alloys and told us to complete. I did not have notes so i went to Shervin to share with him. Basket. Mdm lim wrote my name on the class diary for walkin around in class, forgot to bring notes, sharing seats with Raymond. I dont really care about this. Then, Ms Tan Chin came and told few of us taking Geog confirmation test to see her. She broke bad news to me: I had to drop Pure Geog. I was expecting it this day to come but I didnt want it to happen as well. But it happened, drop then drop Geog, so be it. During English lesson, Mrs Champion told me to collect the summaries because she wanted to mark them over the weekends. Then, Nicholas said thanks to me because he was the MRL rep and i was doing the job. So when class ended, I went to Mrs Champion and asked her if MRL rep is the same as English rep.
She replied: Oh, you want to be the English rep uh?
I said: No, Nicholas is the MRL rep so is he the English rep?
She answered: It's alright. I'll love to have you as the English rep.
Ahaa. Nicholas, in your face. Then, lessons were easy and dismissal was fast. After sch, had NCC training, played soccer but I suck terribly this time. Touched the ball only once or twice. Saw something interesting today. NPCC had only 12 Sec 1 joining them while NCC had 43 Sec 1 joining, and all of them put NCC as first choice! This shows that Maris Stella NCC is still as zai as ever =)
After NCC, my parents came and fetch me for dinner, to celebrate my cousin Ivan's birthday at a vegetarian restaurant. He's 15, in Temasek Sec and is very wise and mature. Sure got tons of girls after him. To birthday boy - Sorry, forgot to buy you present. Will get u present asap. During dinner, there was a dish called the Sambal Fish and i took one fish. I took a bite and felt the bones sticking out, so i asked: Does this fish has bones?
Everyone laughed, because it's a vegetarian restaurant. Strictly no meat, which meant that the fish was a fake. I had forgotten all about it.
My aunt added: Yes, there is..I told them to remove the bones.
They laughed again because that's a nice joke :)

Today was fun because we finally got to play soccer in the Multi-purpose court. During our PE lessons, we took height and weight. I grew few cm to 167 and weighing at 51.5kg. It's under the acceptable range. During recess, we finally get to play soccer in the Multi-Purpose Court after the principal allowed us to play there, as long as we do not litter. I played in my favourite defence positions - goalkeeper and defender. I let in one goal and changed keeper to Chimp. He clumpsily let in 2 goals by Eugene and Aaron. We were leading by 2 goals to 1 before that. If only, the keeper wasn't Chimp, we would have won Aaron's team. After sch, stayed back to do some paper cutting for CNY deco before going for lunch and joining my classmates, 4D friends and the lower sec students for soccer. Everyone played well except for me. I gonna train more on my soccer... more on defence and train to do at least 8 pull-ups for NAPFA test in April.

Can't seem to sleep early these days. Maybe because it's becoming a habit and a bad one. Going to school 5 days a week is my life and I love it. Everyday there's a new adventure waiting to be discovered. It has only become more and more exciting plus fun daily. Tomorrow will be having PE which is only once per week. Hopefully, we get to play soccer and not waste time taking height and weight. Goodnight then.

School is on as usual today. Not much happened today, just that those who didn't meet the mark, had to go to the other class 4L to attend Chinese lesson. It's like downgrading to express Chinese. The teacher, Mr Li Yan Hong was a Cheena and he actually made us pronounced the words like kids. He was not as professional as my previous teacher, Mr Panxu, who can joke 24/7. I will just have to tolerate my new teacher's nonsense for 6 more months and after my O levels, i can stop going for his Chinese lessons.
Just ordered Viva Family Meal and add-ons for Pizza Hut. Delivery time takes 1hr but it's worth the wait.

Haiz. Today is definitely not my day. It was the release of O level results. I got B4 for my Chinese and cannot continue my HCL. Nevermind, there's still time for me to buck up on my Chinese. Also, i would like bro to know that it's not over yet. Dont care how others look at you, you are the best brother i had.

Woots. Went to church in the morning with a spark of excitement. Today pastor preached about living in simplicity. Our lives are complicated because of choices. Choices determine our destiny. Tomorrow my bro will be getting his O levels result and i'll know my O level Chinese result. Failure to get distinction for my paper, I will have to drop my Higher Chinese. Good luck to all regarding the O levels!

Today didnt go for youth mtg and Wei Xiong sms to ask why. I had CCA maze and COC parade at sch. I dont have to say anything but i know my CCA dam zai. Haha. We managed to ask many parents and sec 1 students to join NCC and they agreed. After a long and tiring day, we went to eat with our previous batches NCC sirs. They talked about their experiences and how to lead the company well. And to all sry i had no time to post for days and pls no nonsense on the tag please. Thanks (:

Nothing special today. After school, went to Serangoon Macs to eat with friends. It was so packed that we had to wait for awhile before we got seats. After lunching, followed Moses home and studied Geog at his place. He taught me how to study Geog. Thanks Moses =)
I have never passed Geog once for the whole of last year. Hopefully, I can pass tmr's paper for the very first time. Watching the finale episode of "The Little Nyonya", it's really nice.

Today, i overslept again and didn't attend church. Must set the alarm clock early next week. Anyway, after my double Maths tuition, my parents took my siblings and i to Queensway shopping centre to shop for shoes which were cheaper there. While i was tuitioning, they already shopped at Bugis for clothes. So, i bought a straight cut jeans, Converse shoes and Everlast slippers. The three items cost up to $200. After that, we ate at a shop which sells traditional, delicious laksa, curry rice and so on. On the way home, we went to visit my great-grandma who had had a fall last week, but we were too busy to visit her then. Yep. Tomorrow's school again and it's going to be fun! Just that i am not very prepared for my confirmation test for Geog on Tuesday. By the way, anyone who has trouble in anyway, feel free to ask me for help.

No youth meeting today, so stayed home studied for Geog and played comp. After Chinese New Year, will stop gaming and concentrate on my studies. It's 4 Jan and still the beginning of the year. So my 2009 resolutions are :
1) Pass O levels with flying colours
2) Happiness and good health for family and friends
3) Be a Yes Man so that those around me can feel the joy too!
Actually, i don't care about new year resolutions. But since someone asked for it, here it is.

Back to sch and the feeling's awesome. Not saying my sch rocks but my friends and teachers do! Time passes so fast and in the blink of an eye, I'm in sec 4 already. More responsibility and maturity required but I'm ready for anything and everything.


Sup everyone. Yesterday had way too much fun. We went to a lot of places- Marina Barrage, Marina Bay, near Esplanade and the carnival beside Marina Square. At first, we went to Marina Barrage to find some friends, but they were not there. Walked around and found that they were actually on a grasspatch near the Marina Bay, waiting for 3 hrs already to take the pictures of the fireworks. Then we had 3 hrs left and we left them, heading to our church for service and countdown. Just as we reached Eunos Mrt, Melvin and Darren decided to go find Xue Ni and friends. It took us another long journey of finding them. In the end, we found that they were actually at the countdown party and the tickets cost $28 per. We had not enough time and money so we walked around aimlessly, and stumbled into this Golden Village theatre where we watched Yes Man. After that, we met up with Xue Ni and co. at Sentosa and we managed to sneak in the Siloso Party w/o getting caught. Had breakfast tgt in the morning and then 4 of us cab home. Was so tired that after showering, I slept for 9 hours. Waken up by my mum, she told me to pack for sch tmr and I have Ncc training. Eating dinner now, but one thing I can say is SCHOOLING STARTS!
