ramblings of a teenage boy

What a day was today. I had lessons as usual till 1020. After which, I shared cab with Ken, DW and CY to GL square to play Dota together. The rest of our friends were already there and we booked the VIP comps for the price of the normal comps. My team won Ken's team in the end although we did not have much teamwork. It was because Zong Hao was in his team who is quite new to Dota. Then we played Facebook texas for awhile. I am going bankrupt soon. Then we took cab and bus to Hougang Stadium by 1pm for Annual Track and Fields Meet. I was running in the 4x100 relay with Moses, Matthew and Shuai Cheng. Before the run, I prayed to God to help us win the race and we came in 2nd runner up. I dont deserve to win because I ran too slow and let my team down but thanks to my teamates, who gave their best, we won a medal. We were all overjoyed because its not everyday that we get to win a medal. Then we watched many wonderful races. Even Mr Jeremy Wong's son who was less than 3 yrs old was running with himself on the track for 200m.
When we were dismissed at 6 after taking our attendance, the few of us went Hougang Mall to have our dinner. We had a simple but delicious dinner at food court. After dining, we all went home on seperate ways while YL and me took bus home. We were all exhausted and slept during the bus journey. What a tiring but eventful day we had today.

Let start with friday, not the 13th. School was good and Mr Kelvin Tan came back from his course and told us alot of stuffs. He told us about life in North Light, then about character development, academics, morals, respect and good results. He said that these things interlinked each other. We must be morally good before we can get good results. After school, we had the NAPFA test. It was fun. We helped each other cheat in the sit-ups station. I think i did around 40 and Sher did around 50. In the end, the paper wrote i did 56 and Sher 51. Our last station was the pull-up. I did 6 which was my highest record. I got silver in the end for napfa, which was like the first silver in 10 years.
After that, my family celebrated my cousin, Manyi's birthday. It was her 18th birthday. We ate at a Chinese restaurant and then had ice-cream at Earle Swensen at Terminal 3. Manyi said that the food served was little but with quality. My ever-funny cousin Ivan cracked a joke that he prefer quantity to quality. And don't know who started to compare me with my brother, saying I looked better than my brother. I dont agree because if I am good-looking, nobody is ugly in this world. In my opinion, I am just average and my brother is very handsome! His hairstyle resembles LYJ's.
Today, went to cut my hair with Wymer at the regular salon we visit. Henry had left early so the lady boss helped us to cut our hair and offered me some advice. I should comb my fringe to the right because of the position of my crater. My hair looks short and neat now.

I have a wonderful family, friends and caring teachers.. However, many times I have not met up to their expectations and let them down. Our teachers especially have not given up hope on us, and encourage us from time to time. I truly appreciate that and would like to turn over a new leaf, as of this week. I want to change from being a nobody to becoming somebody. Just like what the US president, Barack Obama, said "Change we can believe in".



Yesterday was 2.4km run and guess what. I did not manage to hit my target and I even vomitted after running. My timing was a slow 12.37min. Dam, Macs made me sick, not going there again. Today, it was really interesting. Eugene, Matthew, Shuai Cheng, Rui Lin, Jun Wei and I volunteered to participate in the washing of feet with the teachers, Brother Anthony and our juniors. It was a little nervous but it was a humbling experience. For the teachers to wash mine and for me to wash my juniors. Also, want to thank Eugene for saying the prayer for 2 days and dont worry u did well. And Chimp, Aaron, Eugene and Qin Xian who got caught by Mr Tan for playing with cards. So sorry.

I got good news and bad news. Good news is, I got full marks for my differentiation quiz. I'm getting right back on track and Mr Tan rewarded the class with lolipops. Another good news is tomorrow is the 2.4km run and I confident of beating my personal record to run below 12 mins. Also, today's assembly was on belly dancing and 4 of our Marists volunteered to dance, in which they danced well. Just watched Walking Tall. It's about a former-US soldier returning to his hometown to see it run by villagers with crime and corruption, so he set on being a sheriff and bringing back peace to the town. Bad news is that's all the good news for the day. One more thing, quote of the week for my class: Maturity does not come with age. So this shows that one is not always better than a three-year-old kid.

April's Fool Day was fun although Mdm Lim said those who play April fool tricks are april fools themselves. There were some good jokes by my friends. I finally went for NCC training after some time. Benedict and I didn't have any punishment for not bringing our uniform. Training went well as planned and was quite slack. When we were going home, Kai Liang kept telling others that my bag looks ugly. I dont care what he says because it's my bag, not his. Then walked with Benedict and Kenneth to bus-stop. Ken suan me that I will be a drop-out and he will go to a JC. He added that he will get 7 points for O levels. That's all he can get and i shall get 6.
Shall train at the fitness corner to do many pull-ups from tomorrow onwards. I will train hard for my NAPFA and to beat you Kenneth.
